Greetings. My name is Kathleen Harrington and want to let you know that I am running for President of the Rochester City Council. In this statement, I want to give you a sense why I am running.
Like many of you, I came to Rochester to work for Mayo Clinic and have chosen to stay. After retiring from Mayo, I have been fortunate to work with a great team in service to small business community at the Chamber of Commerce. The combination of these experiences has given me great insight into our unique community. I serve our community by dedicating my time and treasure to with various non-profits. I am proud to say Rochester is my home.
This is time of unprecedented challenge - not a time for politics as usual. I am running to bring the benefit of my experiences - working with various levels of government, problem solving, team building, and record of strong leadership to this race for City Council President.
Over the next few months, I look forward to getting to know you, hearing your concerns, and ideas. I want you to get to know me – not just what I have done but what makes me tick – my values. In time, after what will likely be a very non-traditional campaign, I hope I will have earned your trust and your vote for City Council President. In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe.
Thank you for visiting my website and getting to know more about why I decided to toss my hat in the ring.
"I strongly believe our resiliency and recovery must extend beyond City Hall to the neighborhoods, the business community, the non-profit community – all the talents, skills and focus of everyone must be brought to bear on recovery."
